It is amazing how many people have and use a smart phone. Actually the amazing thing is how quickly the use of these phones has been adopted and how this exponential growth continues.
To put this mobile phone growth more into perspective, 2015 finally saw more people accessing the internet through their smart phones than they did using their computers, and that’s not even mentioning the amazing growth of the tablet market. And what about the current estimates stating that more people worldwide own a mobile device of some sort than those who own a desktop computer?
To the average punter this sort of revelation may not be entirely overwhelming, and why should it be? It is the average person who is already inexorably entwined in this modern world of mobile technology. They already surf the net, buy tickets, pay for products and organise delivery, catch up on the latest news, check their banking details, organise appointments, make bookings, order their food, make reservations at their favourite restaurant, check out what’s on locally, etc, etc, all from their mobile device.
The truth is that these people are already enmeshed inside this world of mobile technology. They are an integral part of it. 2014 and beyond doesn’t mean anything to them… They are living the future NOW. Espousing the virtues of mobile technology and the growth of use doesn’t mean much to the already converted.
However, this news should be super exciting for a very select group who are in the position to take advantage of this all encompassing mobile phone usage… Who?
… Well YOU of course… Those people, groups, and businesses that have products and services to sell, information to pass on, notifications to broadcast, and branding to support.
And what does it take to tap into this incredible opportunity?
It takes the insight and the good sense to build your own piece of real estate within the sphere of mobile marketing. Easier said than done, right?
Well, actually no, it’s not that difficult.
The first step is to mobilize your web presence, which is just a clever way of saying you need to create mobile friendly versions of your website(s). This will help you twofold.
One, it will create a seamless mobile interface to your website, it will be effortlessly navigatable in terms of the dimensions of a mobile device, and more importantly it won’t frustrate the h*&# out of your mobile visitors (and potential customers.) And two, it will make your site more relevant in terms of the mobile search engines.
The second step (and the focus of this website) is to plan, create, produce, and publish mobile apps that can serve to either gain new customers, increase your community profile, or as an amazing tool to keep in touch with your existing customers.
A mobile app can not only be a highly functional tool for your customers, but it is one of THE MOST EFFECTIVE ways to get your message in front of the people who really count… your customers. And how do we make that happen? We can “push” your message to any mobile device that has your app installed, whether the app is opened or not.
A mobile app is a great way to have your customers and potential customers interact with what you have to offer, increase the perceived value that your business offers, provides a practical interface between you and your customers, and allows you a much deeper (profitable) connection with your current and future customers.
Need any more “selling” of the idea of having your own app? Well how about keeping up with your competitors in an economic climate where every dollar counts. Or even better, how about taking a huge step ahead of your competitors and trail blazing where they can’t or don’t even know how to follow.
Actions taken now in relation to emerging technologies and cutting-edge marketing opportunities can really establish your presence in the wake of what’s to come. These actions will give you and your business the greatest opportunity to establish the greatest amount of mobile virtual real estate in your particular marketplace.
Without trying to sound too dramatic, the time to take action is now.
